A high-fidelity WebGL experiment rendering 100,000 interactive procedural blades of grass in real time. Built on top of a dual-pass rendering pipeline, the simulation writes pointer displacement vectors to an offscreen WebGLRenderTarget with additive blending and progressive decay to maintain persistent physical trails. Volumetric, parabolic curved geometries are instanced and deformed entirely within custom GLSL vertex shaders, keeping CPU overhead at absolute zero. Shading calculations include wrapped diffuse lighting, subsurface scattering, waxy specular glints, and height-mapped self-occlusion, achieving cinematic foliage density and organic light play without heavy shadow maps.
